I am in the business of moving forward without digging my heels in too deeply. The lack of depth and abundance of nonsensical narrative is somewhat intimidating. A dearth of ideas lost in too many flippant opinions.

I stepped on a scale out of curiosity for the first time since a doctor's appointment in January and I weigh 30 pounds less.

This is turning out to be quite a year.

But days are so good with Oscar Peterson in the mornings and Bill Evans at night. A new friend whose name is reluctantly on loan from a famous Poe poem. And an older friend who urges me to go to New York City...soon in Autumn. And my closest loverly pal Rue who keeps me from railing over trivialities too often.

We are all jazz, at least for now.
