This morning eight blue jays were playing in our miniature pine forest of Christmas trees behind our house. Diving and hopping peaks. It was like the sea, the pointed crests of needles and the hide and seek. Blue jays sing songs similar to the seagull.

We lost our small lemon tetra, snicket. So lemony swims alone in the tank.

I work too much but the sky opens up my brain whenever I venture outside. If only the cigarette addiction to ache as a reminder to get out.

I have this excess of energy that works against itself to contain itself--for now. I feel so small big.
